He still had the kidnapped moodlet and was still terrified, as were the other members of the household. A sim from my household got kidnapped automatically and was only gone for a few seconds, came back as a ghost and then turned back to normal. I downloaded the Life's Tragedies mod and everything works fine except for the kidnapping feature.
